2019-20 Basketball Season Details
About Connect Sports Basketball
Connect Sports Basketball was created to foster the development of Christian faith, character and leadership in our youth while teaching the fundamentals of basketball. While participating in Connect Sports Basketball we introduce and evaluate basic footwork, dribbling and shooting skills. We discuss common violations. We also introduce and evaluate defense and rebounding. We teach position roles and responsibilities of the players. We review traveling, double dribble and palming the ball.
After each game we review game performance, discuss positions on the court and promote skill development. We promote and teach offensive movement and teach court spacing. Our coaches are trained to coach through improvements and encourage skill development. We focus on sportsmanship and team unity.
During a student's training they will also develop character and integrity through devotional studies provided by their coach and Connect Sports leaders. Our philosophy is born from the belief that God's great love calls us to compete with integrity and to demonstrate discipline in the context of competition. We believe that pursuing excellence, student athletes learn character building lessons to be all that they can be.
2019-20 Season Schedule:
Registration Opens: October 15, 2019.
Registration Ends: December 5, 2019
Evaluations:
Thursday, November 14, 2019, 6:00 - 7:00 PM at Eden Church 1938 Eden Rd., Mason, MI
Friday, November 15, 2019, 6:00 - 7:00 PM at Eden Church 1938 Eden Rd., Mason, MI
Saturday, November 16, 2019, 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Eden Church 1938 Eden Rd., Mason, MI
Practice: Practices begin January 6th, 2020 and are held at Eden Church, Mason Community Church & The ROC.
Game Days: Eight weeks of Saturday Games begin January 25, 2020 and are played at Eden Church & The ROC.
